SUMMARY:Holiday Cheer For The Little Ones at Vogel Alcove ages: 5 weeks to 5-years-old ❤️
DESCRIPTION:Most everyone knows that Texas is one of the richest states in the union with our beloved City of Dallas\, in particular\, housing more than 20 Fortune 500 company headquarters! ❤ \nDallas is without question a thriving city with much to offer. Sadly\, however\, Dallas also has one of the HIGHEST child poverty rates in the country among cities with more than 1 million people. 🙁 30% of Dallas children grow up in poverty.💔 \nApproximately 3\,000 children in Dallas go to sleep each night without a home of their own. Dallas Magnolias in collaboration with Vogel Alcove is on a mission to help babies/children ranging from 5 weeks to 5-year-old overcome the lasting and traumatic effects of homelessness. \nWe are on a mission to make this Christmas really special for these children\, their moms\, and the center staff. We Dallas Magnolias will personally be providing food\, toiletries\, toys\, and more. AND…and…and… (drum roll\, please) …we’ve already lined up an incredibly generous corporate sponsor! 🙂 Immeasurable gratitude to CAPTRUST ❤ \n#BOOM …we’re only just getting started! 👊🏼 #GoBigOrGoHome \nThat said\, the needs are indeed great and VogelAlcove can never have too much donated… so if you’d like to join in\, please do let us know.\n❤

SUMMARY:KidneyTexas Inc.'s Runway Report Virtual Fashion Show and Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:KidneyTexas Inc. was scheduled to have its annual Runway Report Fashion Show and Luncheon with Tootsies fashions on Tuesday\, September 22\, at Brook Hollow. KidneyTexas President Sandy Secor\, Event Chair Sharon Ballew and Honorary Chair Jolie Humphrey realized that due to social distancing the fundraiser was going to have to be reconfigured and came up with a plan with the help of fashion producer Jan Strimple. \nBasically it was going to stay the same game plan with two changes. Instead of having the luncheon at Brook Hollow\, table hosts would have the lunch held in their homes for the guests\, with KidneyTexas providing the meals. \nThe other change will be the fashion show. It will be produced and filmed earlier in September. Come September 22\, the presentation of the fashions will be streamed online during the lunches. \nAnd if you’d just like to join the festivities in your jammies at home\, individual tickets are available here as well as underwriting and sponsorship opportunities! \nFull article and additional information can be found at – \nKidneyTexas Inc.’s Runway Report Fashion Show And Luncheon To Carry On With A Couple Of Tweaks

SUMMARY:Dwell with Dignity's Annual Thrift Studio Benefit
DESCRIPTION:Chic home shopping event returns to Dallas after COVID cancellation\nIt’s take two for Dallas’ favorite home decor-shopping fundraiser. Dwell with Dignity’s largest annual benefit\, Thrift Studio\, now will take place August 28-September 26 at The International on Turtle Creek\, the organization says in a release. \nOriginally planned for April prior to the coronavirus pandemic\, the luxury home furnishings pop-up shop was canceled in March\, and organizers pivoted quickly to an online format to earn some of the vital funds they needed to keep offering services. But they always intended to reschedule the in-person shopping event. \nThrift Studio is Dwell with Dignity’s annual fundraiser. The month-long pop-up shop features luxury home furnishings and original artwork displayed in vignettes created by prestigious interior designers. All items are available to purchase at dramatic discounts\, with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting Dwell With Dignity. \nDwD provides low-income families with home furnishings in permanent homes. Thrift Studio brings in $400\,000 — 40 percent of DwD’s annual revenue.

We’re on a mission to help young children overcome the lasting and traumatic effects of homelessness. It is our vision that every child in our community has a home\, a self-sufficient family and a foundation for success in school and life — and the clock is ticking. 90% of brain development happens by the age of five. Without intervention at this critical time\, homeless children may suffer lifelong social\, emotional and educational deficits. That’s where we come in. And YOU can help. \nWith the 6th largest GDP of any American city\, major cultural and sports programs\, renowned medical centers and universities and more than 20 Fortune 500 company headquarters\, Dallas is a thriving city with much to offer. \nHowever\, Dallas also has the one of the HIGHEST child poverty rates in the country among cities with more than 1 million people. 30% of Dallas children grow up in poverty\, or two of every five children. That means 3\,000 kids in our city are currently experiencing homelessness. \nHomeless children are the most invisible and neglected members of our community. But Vogel Alcove is devoted to helping these children cope with the physical\, emotional and mental trauma they are experiencing so that they might succeed in life despite their circumstances. \nVogel Alcove Donation

SUMMARY:11th Annual Beacon of Hope 2020 Community Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:The David B. Miller Family Foundation Presents The 11th Annual Beacon of Hope 2020 Community Luncheon Featuring The Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy \nLuncheon Speaker \nWe are pleased to welcome The Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy as our luncheon speaker. Kennedy is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives and the nation’s leading political voice on mental illness and addiction. \nDuring his 16-year career representing Rhode Island in Congress\, he worked aggressively to end medical and societal discrimination against these illnesses\, highlighted by his lead sponsorship of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008—and his brave openness about his own mental health challenges. \nSpecial Entertainment \nGet ready for the sounds of RAINNE! Named for the various elemental twists that rain storms take — from a light inconvenient drizzle to an unequivocally torrential downpour — rising alt-pop duo RAINNE are drenched in emotional catharsis to their core. \nFeaturing singer-songwriter Annie Dingwall and saxophonist/engineer Justin Klunk\, the duo blend a sophisticated pop songwriting prowess with a late-night-drive of a West Coast mystique that recalls the introspective bops of Bishop Briggs\, Dua Lipa and Lorde. “We wanted something that reflected the darker\, brooding\, moody\, aggressive music that we make\,” Annie explains of the band’s fully soaked moniker. “A lot of people like rain. It’s not always necessarily in a negative context.” \n2020 Event Committee \nHonorary Chairs\nKate and Art Anderson \nLuncheon Chairs\nDixey Arterburn\nGinger Sager \nVice Chairs\nKylie Hughitt\nJessica Slay\, LPC-S \nFounding Luncheon Chair\nBarb Farmer
